Very fresh, and true to its name Freshfolio theme from Themefuse is by far one of the most unique and non-blog looking themes I have seen. It looks very artsy and should appeal to college students, art majors and designers. This beautiful looking theme...

Product Features and Benefits

This beautiful looking theme provides a great deal of versatility in presenting your photography, design, art or illustrations to the world with its dynamic slider that is full width and stands out.

When it comes to different colors this theme offers a choice of 2 main color variations, dark and light but the nice thing is you can change that quite easily using the palette that Is in the admin area.

Its built on the fuse framework

Functionality

Front and center in this theme you have the slider which appears to be a manual slider that cannot be clicked on and it only serves to present a body of work vs other sliders that let you slide and click on images to arrive at an individual post.

Also you have a nice selection of social networking icons such as twitter, vimeo, facebook, dig, stumble and flickr.

The menu is top level and has a drop down for all child pages or posts.

There doesn’t appear to be shortcodes available in this theme.

Compatibility and Code

I tested the theme in Internet explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome and while everything worked such as the slider and menu I did notice that the stumble icon appeared at the top in internet explorer where all other browsers its not there.

There is no known information regarding if the theme relies on plugins. I did an extensive search around and it appears to run without the use of any major plugins. I did however find it uses a plugin called tfuse which I believe is custom to the theme and allows customization of the top panel images.

I checked the theme to see how valid the XHTML and CSS and I ‘m sorry to admit that it actually had 24 errors and 30 warnings, probably the most I have ever seen in a wordpress theme.

Performance Check

Fast loading site, that  scored 85/100 with very little to improve on which is great for being look upon by Google favourably.  Had it scored 100 it would have been classed as perfectly optimized. At the moment Google is very big on load speeds of websites so it was nice to see that they scored high.

3 Pros – Things that are great about the theme

  • Very artistic
  • Unique
  • The Slider

3 Cons – Things which aren’t too good

  • Would nice to have the option of full width or fixed
  • Fonts are small
  • There is no iphone publishing option
