Product Features and Benefits
Eshop is an ecommerce site with tons of potential. Templatic have gone all out and made sure this is packed with everything you need to run either a regular product site or a digital one. The built in affiliate module is excellent for drumming up more sales and building an army of sales people.
You have a nice area for your company logo, a shopping bag for customers to keep track of their shopping purchases. A homepage slider which can feature your hot selling products with a section to the right is for a monthly special. Below this you have all the rest of your products listed up to five products across and two deep. Then there is a view store button that takes you to a page where you can see all the products in a regular page format yet with the option of two layouts; Grid or Stacked.
The shopping cart is the biggest function on this site, allow customers to add products to their shopping cart and continue shopping until they are ready to checkout.
On the backend you can keep track of anything related to the cart from the dashboard such as products, orders, processing orders, approval, rejected orders, cancel orders, shipping orders and complete orders.
You can access a number of options under Products in the left sidebar in admin such as, Add products, manage products, manage orders, payment options, coupons, shopping, uploads, design and general settings.

Compatibility and Code
I tested the theme in Internet explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera and Chrome and there were no issues with anything on the site, this includes appearance and functionality.
When it comes to plugins, there doesn’t appear to be any plugins mentioned throughout their site. So we have to assume that it’s not relying on a certain type.
I checked the theme to see how valid the XHTML and CSS were and it has 10 errors.
Generally the loading speed in each of the browsers to me seemed quite fast, but running a quick test through Google page speed tool provides a better idea of how good it was and I found it scored 71/100 with a few references to areas they could improve on. Had it scored 100 it would have been classed as perfectly optimized. At the moment Google is very big on load speeds of websites so it was nice to see that they scored high.
3 Pros – Things that are great about the theme
- The shopping cart
- Backend admin for managing everything
- The affiliate management option
3 Cons – Things which aren’t too good
- Not the most unique looking theme
- Known issues with templatic themes being not entirely functional and requiring fixes
- Lack of shortcodes.
